Imagination provided a means to divert myself from harsh reality and fueled hope for the things yet to be seen. However, this ability also reinforced my negative view of the world, prompting me to worry more than warranted. In this land of duality, hope and despair shared the same label, happiness and sorrow wore the same mask, and pain and ecstasy were fused. Many images and stories repeatedly tried to give birth to cognitive enlightenment, but most dreams never escaped the subconscious prison.
I woke up after seventy-three hours of a coma. My mind felt refreshed, but my entire body was stiff, and every joint screamed with sudden outbursts of pain.
